Online Payment Processing

The Traffic Violations Bureau does not directly process credit cards or electronic checks; however, for your convenience, you can pay online through an independent company with which we have contracted to provide you with this service. With the exception of Visa debit or credit cards, you can use most major credit/debit cards and electronic checks to pay fines, fees and costs owed to the Traffic Violation Bureau online.

PLEASE NOTE: there are two situations in which you cannot pay online:

1. You can pay the $42.00 court cost and the original fine amounts for any violation(s) using our online payment processing option. However, if you have corrected a nullifiable violation and want to submit proof to avoid paying the fine for that offense, you CANNOT pay the nullification fee online. Since we cannot accept your proof of correction online, you MUST submit that proof and payment in person or via mail.
   
   
2. If you want to apply for Defensive Driving School, you CANNOT pay your school registration fee through this website. You can pay the $42.00 court cost due to the Traffic Violation Bureau but you MUST also call the General Sessions Traffic School at (615) 862-8345 to register for school and pay the school registration fee.
   
   

NOTE: If you hold a Commercial Driver’s License issued in any state, you are not eligible to attend Defensive Driving classes per 49 C.F.R. §384.226 and T.C.A. §55-10-301(c). 49 C.F.R. §384.226 also does not allow for the nullification of moving or non-moving traffic violations. This applies regardless of the type of vehicle being operated at the time of the violation.

Before accessing our online payment processing center, you should have the following information available:

• Your citation number(s);
• The total amount owed;
• Your credit or debit card.
